South Texas Blood & Tissue Center Phase III

The dedication of the new South Texas Blood and Tissue Center Donor Pavilion was held on August 6, 2008. The new building is an $11.6M project providing an additional 45,000 SF of space to be used for blood donor facilities, as well as office space at the center's headquarters on Interstate 10 near Vance Jackson Road. Not only does the expansion offer a new place for donors, but it will free up more room for research. Bartlett Cocke General Contractors has built all three phases of the complex, beginning in 1994. Thank you to everyone who attended, especially those who were able to donate blood!

Thanks to those who participated in helping raise money and awareness for the American Heart Association. On November 8 (2008), a group from Bartlett Cocke, including Kirk Kistner, Natalie and Alan Harmon, Mindy Brubaker, Vicki Thayer and Rebecca Lujan and family, took part in the 2008 Start! Heart Walk that raised over $480,000 to help fight our nation’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers - heart disease and stroke.
