Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is seeking Interns to join our teams in Austin, San Antonio and Houston!

Our Interns will be involved with assisting project teams in the completion of designated projects while focusing on learning construction industry processes, procedures and the “Bartlett Cocke Way.” If you are interested in pursuing a career in the commercial construction industry while being able to impact the communities in which we live in – look no further!
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (depending on your path):
The below essential job functions and responsibilities may vary depending on the candidate’s desired internship path (Preconstruction, Field, Office, etc.). Interns can also expect some exposure to other departments within the company.
- Become familiarized with Bartlett Cocke General Contractors’ best practices and operational processes.
- Assists Project Managers, Superintendents, Assistant Project Managers, Assistant Superintendents, Estimators, etc. on achieving project milestones through daily tasks, etc.
- Attend subcontractor meetings to learn about the coordination of subcontractors for various trades.
- Process RFI’s, maintain the RFI log, as well as assists with processing submittals and maintaining the submittal log.
- Assists in carrying out a variety of basic field duties at the job site related to the existing projects on hand at the time of the internship.
- Exposure to the construction technology utilized by the company including, but not limited to Scheduling, Estimating, BIM, drones and other technology used.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must be currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or a degree in a related field.
- Candidates must be open to temporarily relocating to Austin, San Antonio or Houston, TX for the duration of the internship if not already within commutable distance.
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Candidates must show initiative and possess the willingness to learn.
- Candidate must have a basic understanding of construction principles, processes, etc.
- Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools such as email, internet and Microsoft Office products.
